"every single human being has the same issues, you know, under umbrella issues, which is that we just want to love ourselves more. Whether we think it's corny or whether we don't think it's corny. It's the truth we all want a little bit more love for within ourselves. And I've always been one to believe that come to come with a solution to the problem, you know. So my book ‘Making The Love You Want’ is one solution to a growing epidemic of mental illness."

Mike Johnson is an entrepreneurial powerhouse & the breakout star from ABC's ‘Bachelorette’ and ‘Bachelor In Paradise.' Mike is now transforming audiences worldwide by showcasing his global influence through brave storytelling and big smiles. With his focus on self-love, Mike now writes and speaks on how the ability to overcome

stems from the power within. At only 32, he has already had an extraordinary and multifaceted career and life, from serving in the US air force to surviving reality-TV fame and so much more in between.

In this episode of the Love Intently podcast, we talk about his best-selling independent book 'Making The Love You Want'. We also speak about what influenced his decision to leap into reality TV, the challenges and mindset shifts he has experienced with dating after becoming recognized in the public eye, His experience with sexual trauma, his advice on speaking up, and the love truths he now lives by. Mike truly has a fantastic story to share.

Key Topics Discussed in This Episode:

  • What dating life has been like for Mike after staring in the US reality tv series 'Bachelorette' and what effect this experience has had on his mindset.

  • What influenced mike to write his book "Making the love you want."

"When you genuinely have a love for yourself, you always want other people to be and feel great as well. You always want to give more of what you have because you want to. It's a beautiful thing for everybody. If everyone had that - I think the world would be a more compassionate place."

  • What the balance is between self-love and being egotistical.

  • Experiencing Sexual Trauma and having the courage to speak up and seek help

  • Practicing self-honesty, self-love, and what it really looks like

"It's such a lack of self-love that those individuals have, you got to go a couple of layers deep. Because when we talk about the bachelorette, we can almost tell the egotistical ones, the ones that are in it for yourself, the ones that don't care about another individual, the ones that say, I want to win this season. It's not about winning, it's about finding a connection with the lead, but in the realm of an egotistical person is that they just don't care about another person."

  • Shifting from a pessimistic to an optimistic mindset and the power of positive affirmations.

"acceptance is truly not just surface level, right? It's truly not just skin level. It's so much deeper than that. To accept what took place, forgive yourself, and know that this doesn't define you for yourself. To know that you have to be optimistic within life still, right? If something were to take place against you, you'd have to learn to accept what's taking place, But then you have to be able to forgive that individual in order to move on."

  • Mikes advice on the truths of love and relationships and what beliefs he lives by
